FULFILLING GOD’S PLAN THROUGH BUSINESS: THE STORY BEHIND CLICK FAST FOOD
A stable income, a successful career, a prosperous life abroad…. will you be willing to leave all these to go back to your country and fulfill God’s plan for you?
In line with the upcoming first year anniversary of Click Fast Food, I was honored to interview the people behind its success. Both an OFWs from Saudi, Sir Arvin as an engineer and Ms. Joy as medical transcriptionist shared to me how their food business started. Mr. and Mrs. De Leon were both self-confessed food lovers. While still living in Saudi, it has been a habit for them to cook and eat food prepared in different ways. Their overwhelming love for food was also the reason why they like to entertain friends and relatives with their dishes. However, despite their well compensating jobs in Saudi, both Mr. and Mrs. De Leon felt that something is missing .They said they felt that God has a different plan for them. Knowing the economic risks, they choose to pack their bags and leave Saudi to go back to the Philippines.
But, living again in Bacolod became a great challenge to the couple. Adjustments had to be made…
The love for cooking and the deep passion to help their fellow Bacolodnons made them put up the Click Fastfood. They want to offer good food at an affordable price. They believed that good food need not be expensive.
THE CLICK FAST FOOD
The edge of Click Fast food compared to its competitors is that under Strip and Sauces, the customer will be selecting chicken, beef or pork as your strip and for its source, the customers will be selected in six different flavors (Teriyaki, Korean, Sweet and Sour, Zesty Lemon, Spicy Buffalo and Sweet Barbeque). They also offer Chicken Fribeque (marinated, fried and grilled), their own version of Bacolod Chicken Inasal. These Asian fusion menus are being prepared in 7-15 minutes just like in fine dining restaurants because they believed that each customer deserves freshly cooked meals.
Today, there are already employing 10 workers helping them with the food business. For them as long as you have a heart for cooking they are willing to help you achieve your dreams. Aside from the monthly salaries, employees are also given cash incentives to make them more motivated and efficient. The management is also conducting monthly staff meetings to hear their employees thoughts and suggestions to improve more of their services. Every Saturday afternoon, staff fellowship is conducted where they share the words of God. According to the Mr. and Mrs. De Leon, the Click Fast food is a venue for them to fulfill God’s plan for their lives.
During my interview with Mr. and Mrs. De Leon, I have witnessed the close bond they have with their employees.
