The First Batch of First Farmer’s Teambuilding Workshop 2015
BENEFITS OF TEAMBUILDING WORKSHOP
For many years now, I always got a lot of request from many organizations to conduct teambuilding workshops for their employees. These companies have specific reasons, but the bottom line always is on how to improve working relationship among groups in their organization.
My consultancy firm, the INTRASPEC Management Consultancy just started recently the first batch in the series of Teambuilding Workshops for the First farmers Holding Corporation. Dr. Grace Engallado and I have completed a series of workshops for the top management and supervisors last year and for this year we are working on a program for the rank and file employees.
Training Team
First Farmers Holding Corporation is a sugar central in Talisay City, Negros Occidental. Both Dr. Engallado and I used to work for this company many years back under the Office of the President – Administration. Hence, our familiarity with the company’s culture had helped us a lot especially when designing the training module.
High Performing teams are imperative to the success of any organizations. Across the organization “people must work closely together, wear many hats and work effectively to get tasks accomplished quickly enough to remain competitive.”
While any training or to be specific a Teambuilding Workshops can not resolve all attitudinal problems in an organization, definitely efforts like this can create a dent.
Let me share with you the benefits of Teambuilding Workshops in an organization:
1. Building Employees Morale
I guess any training boasts employee’s morale. The feeling that the company spent for its employees and the thought of developing them result to a good feeling and definitely, a morale booster.
2. Develop Team Roles
Team building allows each member of the team to develop and focus on what they are best at, and allow the team members to find their niche within the team so that everyone can best contribute as an individual while still performing together.
3. Conflict Management
Conflicts are but just common in any working environment. In fact, I believe that organizations with unreported conflict issue is even more quite scary. This could only mean any of the following: they just tolerate one another; they are hiding something from the management; they are complacent and are staying on the status quo most of the time; they don’t try new ideas and many more reasons.
Unnecessary conflicts or disputes may also arise depending on the varied personalities of your employees. This has to be address as this can be counterproductive.
One way of easing conflicts among employees can be done through teambuilding activities. Allowing employees to bond with one another and develop skills, knowledge and attitude on behavior dynamics may improve working relationships among employees.
Ideally this type of team building activity is best when held in a neutral venue such as resorts or other training venues or even retreat places where any sentiment from the office won’t be so palpable.
3. Improved Communication
Team-building activities that highlight communication allow participants to experience for themselves the importance of good communication and develop new ways of accomplishing this.
Through team-building activities, employees can learn how to better communicate with one another because they probably will be faced with activities that need to be solved as a group.
4. Build Trust
How can one work together if there’s no trust? Trust between employer and employee; trust between employees and trust between the company and its customers are critical components to any business success. Experiential Learning Activities (SLE) during the workshop will enable the participants to experience trust working with one another and processing this for a take home applications.
5. Better Relationships
Team building provides several exercises which provide participants to work together in an activity where everyone starts with an equal level of knowledge about the given task. The challenge of a new experience also requires employees to collaborate and work together in close proximity, which helps to develop relationships quickly.
6. Increase Collaboration
Team-building activities can establish a stronger bond between co-workers who might blame one another when problems arise within shared business projects. This bond can help in increasing collaboration among employees during daily business activities.

very good article po about Teambuilding .Thank you for sharing this
I’ve joined so many team buildings since I was in high school and i love the experience and kind of missing it.
Team building is an essential part of my network marketing business , it is what will make it or break your success in network marketing
I think team building can really bring out people’s personalities and gives them new aspect of the work, people’s capabilities and responsibilities in the process.
I used to love joining team building workshops back when I was still employed full time. Now that I’m a WAHM, there are usually no more opportunities for such. I really do miss it!
Ah, yes. For me the best thing about team building is relationships. Sometimes all that a team needs is to have a good relationship to build camarederie and improve teamwork. There are now many different team building activities apart from the traditional ones. Have you tried team drumming? (Not sure of the term) but in it, everyone has a drumming instrument and you have to learn to be in sync with each other as you beat on it.
